The 2017 Glammy's TV and Film Festival is a hit

THE 2017 GLAMMY’S TV AND FILM FESTIVAL IS A HIT
Last semester, Point TV held the first ever Glammy’s TV and Film Festival. With an MC, a red carpet, a professional photographer, and a chocolate fountain, future PLNU film festivals have quite the night to live up to.

Heidi Lynch, Ph.D., R.D.N.

Dr. Lynch's research focuses on the effect of plant-based diets  on physical health, athletic performance, and environmental sustainability. Her interest in plant-based diets is based in a desire to encourage people to eat in environmentally sustainable ways. Her recent work involves investigating food security among PLNU undergraduate and graduate students.

Brent A. Alvar, Ph.D., CSCS*D, TSAC-F*D, FNSCA, FACSM

Dr. Alvar matriculated from Arizona State University (ASU) after completing
the triumvirate of degrees at his alma mater. After graduation, he was
hired as an Assistant Research Professor at ASU and had a joint appointment
with Chandler-Gilbert Community College as a Residential Faculty member,
Director of Sport Performance as well as ran the Human Performance
Laboratory. He left to help build and oversee several graduate degree as
well as the research program for Rocky Mountain University of Health
Professions.

Dr. Katie Manning Wins Book Award

Dr. Katie Manning, associate professor of writing, won the 2016 Main Street Rag Poetry Book Award for her first full-length poetry collection, Tasty Other. The book was published in November 2016 and celebrated with release parties at PLNU and the Women's Museum of California.
