Special Olympics 2017

The PLNU Special Olympics Leadership Team made up of Faculty, Staff and Students organized and executed a successful event. There were 200 PLNU buddies for 254 athletes and 920+ in attendance.

Mary Paul, D.Min.

Mary Rearick Paul serves as vice president for Student Life and Formation at PLNU.  She leads and provides oversight for Student Life and Formation programming serving the undergraduate population. This includes chaplain ministries, Chapel programming, discipleship ministries, international ministries, and community ministries. She also provides oversight for spiritual care programs offered to PLNU’s graduate programs. She is a member of the President’s Cabinet.

Breeann Kyte Kirby, Ph.D.

As a former research scientist turned writer, Kirby is firmly grounded in both science and literature, still working in both fields by facilitating collaborations between scientists, writers, and artists. She writes in all genres but has a soft spot for speculative fiction and the weird; Kirby’s creative and scientific work has been published both in print and online.

George Latter, MBA

George Latter, Jr. is an alumnus of PLNU and serves as vice president for Finance & Administrative Services. As the university’s chief financial officer, he leads strategic financial efforts and oversees key operational functions including accounting and budgeting, human resources and payroll, student financial services, risk management, information technology, and facilities. He is a member of the President’s Cabinet.

Joe Watkins, Ph.D.

Dr. Joe Watkins was appointed executive vice president in August 2015. He oversees University Advancement, Undergraduate Admissions, Marketing & Creative Services, Alumni Relations, the Office of Public Affairs, and the Liberty Station Conference Center. He is a member of the PLNU Foundation Board and is chair of the board for the Point Loma Trust. When time permits, he enjoys teaching in the Fermanian School of Business and the College of Extended Learning. He is a member of the President’s Cabinet.
