Dan Jacobson, Ph.D.

Dan Jacobson joined the Fermanian School of Business as an Adjunct Professor of Management in 2018. Before starting this role, he served for seventeen years as a Management Consultant in the U.S. Air Force. Dan later transitioned to higher education, where he taught courses in business, human resources, and leadership. We are thrilled to have him on board, as he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role.

Judy Holmes, Ed.D.

Dr. Holmes joined the Fermanian School of Business as an Adjunct Professor in 2018, after holding similar roles in higher education. She also has experience as Chief Operations Officer for an educational consulting corporation. 

Luca Dal Pubel

Professor Luca Dal Pubel began his career at the Fermanian School of Business in 2020 as an Adjunct Professor of Organizational Leadership for our Adult Undergraduate Program. In 2022, Professor Dal Pubel began to teach Negotiation and Conflict Resolution in our Graduate Program. He has simultaneously and previously held teaching positions at a number of local and European universities.

Thea Copeland, MBA

Professor Thea Copeland joined the Fermanian School of Business in 2022 as an Adjunct Professor of Marketing, teaching marketing and data analysis blending academic knowledge and real-world expertise. Professor Copeland serves concurrently as the Vice President of Strategy at OneSource Distributors, leading corporate initiatives to expand market share through innovative products and services. Overseeing marketing, digital business, vendor relations, and customer experience teams, they drive strategic growth and innovation.

JC Hurtado-Prater, MBA

JC Hurtado-Prater joined the Fermanian School of Business (FSB) as an adjunct professor in 2020 and was hired as a full-time associate professor of leadership in 2022. A veteran of the United States Army, he came to PLNU with more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit organizations and management consulting. Hurtado-Prater has provided training and consulting services for Fortune 500 organizations and large governmental agencies, including Johnson + Johnson, Cisco, US Department of Interior, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, US Navy, Park Hyatt and more.

Christopher Paik, Ph.D.

Dr. Christopher Paik joined the Fermanian School of Business as a full-time assistant professor of economics in 2022. He came to PLNU from the Economic Research Institute, Bank of Korea, where he worked as an economist as part of the International Economics Team. Dr. Paik earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Miami along with a MS in Financial Economics from Florida Atlantic University. While at the University of Miami, Dr. Paik served as an economics instructor and research assistant. He also served as a marine sergeant in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps.

Mary Logue, MLIS

Mary Logue is the Resource Discovery Librarian at Ryan Library. She joined the faculty at Point Loma Nazarene University in late 2022 after working for the San Diego Public Library as a Branch Manager for three years. Prior to that, she worked for 19 years in the library at Westmont College. While at Westmont she specialized in cataloging, electronic resources and systems, and disaster preparedness/response. She spent her last few years at Westmont as Director of the Voskuyl Library.

Amy Nantkes, Ph.D.

Amy Nantkes teaches courses on public policy, state and local government, race, ethnicity, and politics, and group and organizational behavior. Her research interests include immigration policy and social welfare policy and inequality, with an emphasis in efficacy-developing policies and sustainable reduction of poverty in the United States. Amy's recent work includes a qualitative study on the effects of gentrification in a San Diego neighborhood and a Native American voting rights study included in the Sanchez v. Cegavske (2016) case.
