Program Director, Beauty for Ashes Scholarship

Katie Hodson is responsible for managing the Beauty for Ashes Scholarship, overseeing the application and enrollment processes for incoming scholars. The scholarship program supports survivors of human trafficking who are pursuing their first bachelor’s degree, offering not only financial assistance but also access to the university and ongoing support. Dr. Carli provides human trafficking academic research expertise to the CJR team to increase collaboration between academic institutions, in support of HT-RADAR's objective to facilitate a collaborative research environment in San Diego. She also leads a research project for the kNOw MORE! program, and co-leads the Center’s research partnerships with other universities. She is also the current co-chair of the Research and Data Subcommittee of the County of San Diego Human Trafficking and CSEC Advisory Council.

Isabel Gutierrez is part of our research team and provides support conducting literature reviews, collecting and analyzing research findings and helping research and write briefs and studies on human trafficking issues. Isabel also provides administrative support, helping coordinate HT-RADAR conferences and completing IRB applications.

Marissa Salgado supports all areas of the center’s programs and initiatives and is the primary liaison for the CJR to students, faculty, staff, other departments, external partners, and individuals inquiring about the Center's work. kNOwMORE is a drama based human trafficking prevention program that is geared towards middle and high school youth. Ebony Robinson serves as the program manager for kNOwMORE. She is responsible for the logistics, communication and coordination required to ensure the effectiveness and the impact of the KNOwMORE program.
