Multimedia Journalism, minor

Multimedia Journalism, minor

Program Overview

Being an expert in your field is one thing. Being able to communicate that expertise with compelling storytelling and data is something far more valuable. PLNU's multimedia journalism minor allows students to major in an area of study in the sciences, psychology, music, art, literature, theology, etc., with an additional marketable dimension that helps communicate those ideas from your primary major.

With a minor in multimedia journalism, students will learn how to gather information from reliable sources, organize information in a skillful manner, and communicate that information in a compelling way across various media platforms.

Students will learn from faculty and staff who offer a collective background of careers including journalism, television, radio, publishing, marketing, education, environmentalism, and much more. You'll learn how to communicate stories and issues related to your major, as well as any other area of interest, in a variety of formats.

Learning by Experience
"A lot of schools teach from books but I feel like in our program, a lot of it was learning by experience. Write an article. Go do an interview. Look at this story. Tell me what you think of the ethics and legality of it. I sincerely think I owe a lot to my PLNU professors. They really helped shape me into who I am as a journalist."
