PLNU On-Campus Jobs
Student employment at PLNU is an invaluable opportunity for students to develop career competencies and build community while working to meet educational expenses. PLNU offers a variety of student employment experiences across many academic and administrative departments, allowing students to seek out work experiences that fit their interests and skill set.

- The steps for searching for an on-campus job.
- The onboarding requirements when you obtain your first campus position. This process must be finalized before you may begin training or working.

Your Job Search
On-campus positions are posted on Workday throughout the year, with the majority being posted in late summer / August for the fall semester and in October / November for the spring semester.
Here are instructions for accessing the job board and the application process:
Login using PLNU credentials at: pointloma.onelogin.com/portal/.
Click on the WORKDAY application.
Select either the application menu button at the top left or 'View All Apps' on the right side of the screen.
Choose the Career application - you may need to click on View More to access this option.
Under the View menu, select Find Student Jobs.
Click on a job to learn about the position description and details. Select APPLY on the top right corner to initiate, complete, and submit an application. I recommend that you attach your résumé and perhaps a cover letter.
Preparing for Your First Campus Job
Congratulations! You have interviewed for a job and have been offered your first position working for the PLNU! There are now important forms and hiring procedures to complete with the Student Employment Office before you are approved to begin training or working.
The first step will be for your manager to hire you on Workday. When our office receives this request, we will send an email to your PLNU email address explaining the onboarding/hiring requirements; they are also summarized below. It is important to be checking your PLNU email messages for this information as your manager will request that you finalize your hiring as promptly as possible.
You will be responsible for completing the following hiring procedures before being approved to train or work:
- Review, fill out, and submit the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification and the W-4 Federal Withholding forms, which will be tasks in your Workday inbox.
- Review the forms included in the Acknowledgement task in your Workday inbox, and check the I Agree box.
- Collect your personal identification documents for the I-9 form, such as listed here and on the link to the List of Acceptable Documents below. It is a requirement for the documents to be the original and current version. By law, we cannot accept expired, scanned, copied, or faxed documents.
- Once you have your identification documents, review this schedule to determine a date and time to meet with Debra.
- Register for a virtual New Hire Orientation here. Before attending the Orientation, it is a requirement to first complete steps 1-4 as listed above.
- Attend the Orientation to finalize your hiring.
Accept the offer letter you will receive in your Workday inbox after the Orientation. You will simply click on the I agree box to accept the position.
You have completed your onboarding process! Congratulations!!
List of Acceptable Documents
International Students
Please contact Amber Nakamura of the Multicultural and Student Services Office to inform her that you have been hired for an on-campus job. She will assist you with obtaining a social security number, if necessary, and ensuring you have all of the correct documentation to complete your hiring process. You will be expected to proceed through steps 1-8 as listed above to complete your hiring process.
Once again, congratulations for being hired for your first job at PLNU! We are excited for you as you begin this new employment opportunity! The Student Employment Office is available to answer any questions or concerns as you advance through the onboarding requirements.
If You Have Worked On-campus Before
Have you been employed with an on-campus department before and are now wondering if you need to do anything for your new position? Yes! You will receive an offer letter in your Workday inbox for the new position; please review and submit your acceptance as promptly as possible.
Student Employee Handbook
All students seeking employment must be familiar with the Student Employee Handbook. Student employees will be required to sign an acknowledgement form stating they will review and abide by the policies and procedures of the Handbook.
Payroll
