Transparency in Healthcare Disclosures

These links lead to machine readable files that are made available in response to the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule and includes negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed amounts between health plans and healthcare providers. The machine-readable files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to more easily access and analyze data.

Education Benefits

Tuition Remission

A full-time employee is eligible to receive tuition remission for two courses or six units, whichever is greater — up to a maximum of 18 units per academic year. For undergraduate courses, employees receive 100 percent remission, and for graduate courses they receive 50 percent remission. After one year, the legal children and spouse of an employee are eligible to participate in the undergraduate tuition remission program. Tuition remission for dependents’ undergraduate courses is phased in up to 95 percent over four years.

Tuition Exchange Program

PLNU participates in the Tuition Waiver Exchange Program sponsored through the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). This program enables the dependents of regular full-time faculty, staff, and administrators of participating council institutions to attend other participating council institutions tuition-free for up to four years.

Early Childhood Learning Center

Regular employees qualify for a 25 percent discount for each child enrolled in the Early Childhood Learning Center.

Holidays/Time Off

The university typically observes the following holidays each year:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Martin Luther King
  • Maundy Thursday
  • Good Friday
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day, and the days before and after Thanksgiving
  • December 24 through January 1

Vacation Time

Vacation time is granted to regular full-time, 12-month staff. Regular 12-month staff working 32 hours per week and regular 12-month part-time employees working a minimum of 20 hours per week earn vacation leave on a pro-rata basis. After 90 days of continuous service, vacation time is available to be taken as it accrues.

Sick Time

Regular full-time employees accrue 10 days of sick leave per year. Regular employees working 32 hours per week and regular part-time employees working a minimum of 20 hours per week earn sick leave on a pro-rata basis. All other non-benefit eligible employees will be granted five days (40 hours) of sick leave each calendar year or upon hire. After 90 days of continuous service, sick time is available to be taken as it accrues.

Personal Time

Regular full-time employees earn two personal days each calendar year. Regular employees working 32 hours per week and regular part-time employees working a minimum of 20 hours per week earn personal leave on a pro-rata basis. After 90 days of continuous service, personal time is available to be taken.

Since 2014, we’ve partnered with Fitbit and WellRight to help us challenge ourselves and keep track of our progress and goals. Looking forward, we are committed to continue developing a comprehensive program that promotes financial, spiritual, environmental, and emotional wellness in all areas of life for PLNU’s employees, workplace, and community.
