- All housing accommodation requests, whether current students or incoming, are considered on a case-by-case basis for eligibility in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act’s (ADA) purpose to ensure equal access in higher education. EAC approved accommodations are shared with the housing department who then work to best meet the approved accommodations with the room/spaces available.
- The EAC does not approve accommodations for a student to live in a specific residential building nor do they approve accommodations for specific roommates or priority selection times.
- Housing on campus is limited and we cannot accommodate preferences; rather, accommodations are designed to address barrier(s) caused by any functional limitation(s) related to a student’s medically documented disability.
- For continuing students, requests for housing accommodations must be medically documented (Provider Form) and submitted to the EAC for review by February 15th for Fall semester and Summer semester placements and by October 23rd for Spring semester.
- For incoming students, requests for housing accommodations must be medically documented (Provider Form) and submitted to the EAC for review by May 15th for Fall semester placements.
- Housing accommodation requests received after the posted deadlines cannot be guaranteed and will be met based on availability.
- The EAC follows the guidelines outlined in Residential Life at PLNU. Students must apply to housing to be considered for housing accommodations.
