Logie Named New Head Coach of PLNU Men's Basketball

Matt Logie has been named the newest head coach of the Point Loma men's basketball team, announced Athletic Director Ethan Hamilton on Thursday, Apr. 25. Logie will become the 15th coach in the history of the PLNU men's basketball program.

David Carlson, M.F.A.

J. David Carlson is a native southern Californian.  He has an MA in Ceramics from California State University of Fullerton and an MFA in Visual Art from Vermont College of Fine Art.  Currently, Carlson brings his 15 plus years of service in teaching and leadership to the Department of Art and Design where he serves as Chair. Currently, he teaches Intro to Art, 2D Design, and Advanced Studio Practice.  In addition, he helps curate Keller Gallery, facilitates Open Shop for students and collaboratively co-leads the department’s Study Abroad program.

Marvin Milian, M.A.

As a Ph.D. student in Visual Arts: Philosophy, Aesthetic, and Art Theory at IDSVA my work looks to understand the fluid evolution of art and aesthetics through philosophy and critique. Trained as an art historian and theorist I bring to PLNU an ambition to change the way art history is taught. I'm an educator that thrives to innovate the classroom. I earned an M.A. in Modern Art History, Theory, and Criticism from Azusa Pacific University and a B.A. of Art History from the University of California Riverside. I am an author, a blogger, I've hosted an art history podcast.

G. James Daichendt, Ed.D., M.F.A.

G. James Daichendt is the Interim Provost and Chief Academic Officer at Point Loma Nazarene University. Prior to this position, he served as Vice-Provost (2019-2024), Dean of the Colleges (2017-2024), and Dean of Arts and Humanities (2015-2017) at PLNU.

Tiffany Neal, Program Assistant

Tiffany Neal is the Assistant to the Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling Program. She is excited to support the MACC program as a staff member as she has fond memories of her experience obtaining her bachelors degree in Psychology from PLNU. Tiffany has spent the last 10 years working with students of all ages from primary school through college at The Rock Church Point Loma Campus and The Mission Valley YMCA in student and youth development.
