The goal of the OnRamps Collaborative is to provide survivors of human trafficking with opportunities to either pursue a college education or learn a trade through vocational training.
One of the primary factors that pull people back into a life of exploitation is a lack of financial stability, leading to increased vulnerability. We believe that education can unlock opportunities to build a healthy future.
We currently have two programs available for volunteer opportunities: The Life Skills Program and The Coaching Program.
The Life Skills Program:
As an OnRamps Life Skill volunteer, you will work closely with the program coordinator to develop a workshop that will be based on your skill, talents, and strengths. These workshops will be interactive and help participants learn a new skill or healthy habit as a part of their overall
pathway to healing.
A few of the many opportunities for workshops include:
Resume/Cover Letter Building
Social and Communication Skills
Financial Literacy
Goal Setting
Interview Practices
Health and Wellness
Career Exploration
Healthy Relationships and Life Balance
Computer Skills
The Coaching Program:
As an OnRamps Coach, you will be providing support to the participant as they navigate life. The focus will be placed on building long-lasting relationships, building resiliency, and focusing on the strengths of the individual. You will meet twice per month and attend one group meeting
per month to develop a friendship that will hopefully last a lifetime! This program requests a minimum one-year commitment.
A few of the areas of support you will offer as a coach may include:
One-on-One Meetings and Group Gatherings
Career Coaching
Navigating Employment and College Admissions
Career Exploration
Support Navigating Available Resources
