Vice Provost David M. Phillips is the dean of the College of Extended Learning. His academic work includes biblical studies, theology, Christian ministry, adult learning, instructional design, online learning, and management. He has been a member of the PLNU faculty since 2013, with previous service at Trevecca Nazarene University (Nashville) and Nazarene Bible College (Colorado Springs).
As vice provost, Phillips oversees several programs and the services area for Graduate & Professional Services. This includes the accelerated undergraduate programs and the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership.
Originally from Orange County, California, Phillips received his undergraduate degree from Pasadena College (PLNU) in 1973 and his doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1998. He earned master’s degrees from Azusa Pacific University in 1986 and 1989, University of Phoenix in 2004, Capella University in 2010, and Trevecca Nazarene University in 2016.
