Program Overview

Enhance your education degree with multi-subject training and gain the experience you need to earn your teaching credential.

This minor is designed for students in the Liberal Studies: Teacher Education B.A.* program who wish to complete their teaching credential and qualify to teach multiple subjects and elementary students. It provides an expansion of theory, practice, and clinical teaching experience to help you become a confident, inspiring educator who’s ready to lead a classroom.

With this minor, you’ll learn crucial teaching skills such as:

  • Classroom research practices
  • Elementary clinical practice
  • Interdisciplinary approaches to school subjects
  • Methods of teaching reading and writing
  • And more!

Within this 19-unit minor, you’ll gain 10 units of clinical experience through student teaching for elementary classes (8 units) and clinical practice seminar courses (2 units). Upon graduation, you’ll be equipped with the best educational practices to meet the needs of students and shape the future of education.
