Mathematics, minor

Mathematics, minor

Program Overview

Cultivate creativity and flexible thinking with the study of mathematics. The Mathematics minor is perfect for detail-oriented people who gravitate toward numbers, puzzles, technology, and patterns.

With a minor in mathematics at PLNU, you’ll take classes in theoretical and applied mathematics and gain a general understanding of the power of mathematics as a tool in a wide variety of circumstances.

A minor in mathematics is a great supplement to a major in a related field, such as computer science, physics, chemistry, or cross-disciplinary studies (teacher preparation). It can provide you with a broader perspective, and provide great skills that you can use in your future studies and career. At PLNU, you'll gain practical experience while working closely with other students and professors in a highly collaborative environment.

The Department of Mathematical, Information, and Computer Sciences (MICS) is committed to working with you holistically to help you discover who you are called to be. As a mathematics minor at PLNU, you’ll benefit from a curriculum that not only allows you to gain practical skills and knowledge, but also aims to help you develop the characteristics necessary to make a positive impact on your community.
