French, minor

French, minor

Program Overview

Do you have a passion for learning new languages and exploring diverse cultures? If so, learning how to speak, read, and write French as well as diving into the nuances of this fascinating universal culture might be just the right minor for you.

Multiple language fluency will prepare you to participate effectively in a multilingual global society. A minor in French is offered to those who wish to complement study in another discipline. Coursework can only approximate a bilingual setting and does not necessarily guarantee appropriate language proficiency. Therefore, students are encouraged to immerse themselves in the target language and complete more than the minimum number of language classes.

"I had never taken a French class before, so Point Loma got me at level zero. I was able to progress to a place where I can now read, write, speak, and understand French. I also grew in my desire to keep learning and progressing in the language."
Lucie Gilette French B.A.
Mentorship Matters
"My time at Point Loma was extraordinary because I was able to tutor, TA, and work one-on-one with my professors to receive the best training possible."
