I had such a great time today on our field trip! We first visited Porchester castle where we got to have some laughs dressed up in old-timely outfits. We then made our way to Portsmouth where we were able to see three historical ships, the Mary Rose, HMS Victory, and HMS Warrior. We also took a boat ride into the harbor, which was great fun!

#plnustudyabroad #plnu #oxford #porchester #portsmouthIt was a bright and sunny Oxford summer day today! @scio_oxford took us on a walking tour to highlight some the historical aspects of Oxford. We saw many of the Oxford Colleges, an ornate art piece called the Martyrs Memorial, and a humble statue by Antony Gormley. After, I went and explored the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, which was full of interesting and beautiful artifacts.

#plnu #plnustudyabroad #scio #oxford #sciooxfordParis update! So far, it has been great! We have been able to see the Eiffel Tower at night, visit the Pompidou art museum, enjoy church at La Madeleine, and so much more! I even got to meet up with Dr. Adams, one of my nursing professors! Today we are headed to the Louvre, which I’m excited for. The culture has been so different compared to London, so we are definitely adjusting. But, we are still having fantastic experiences!
Life in Trastevere: Trastevere is a neighborhood of Rome where I go to school (John Cabot University). It’s known for its history, night life and beautiful streets. The culture here is amazing I think it’s the best place in Rome. The last video is of a group that I pass nearly everyday on the way home from school. Walking through the streets of Trastevere has been the highlight of my entire study abroad experience
Took some time away from Prague for spring break to visit 4 cities in Italy by train: Venice, Verona, Cinque Terre, and Rome!! I am sad that spring break is over but looking forward to going back home to Prague!

Loooove being a tourist in this city!! Honestly... when I first got here I definitely didn’t want to go out and see some of the sites because I was afraid of looking too much like a tourist 🙈 but, I’ve had so much fun taking in Liverpool! I definitely recommend seeing everything you can when you visit a new place... the stories you’ll be able to tell are worth far more than looking like a local and missing out on something special! @aliseaquist // #plnu #plnuabroad #plnustudyabroad #studyabroad

So sad to say goodbye to the wonderful city and University of Oxford. I have enjoyed my time studying abroad so much and am so grateful for everything I’ve been able to experience here and everyone I’ve had the privilege to meet and become friends with! My classes were beyond amazing and I had so many field trip opportunities too. I’m sad to go but excited to see where else the world takes me.

#plnustudyabroad #oxford #books #studyabroad #plnuHey hey hey !!! Jessie here with an update on my first weekend in Oxford! We were given a tour of the SCIO offices and classrooms located in Wycliff Hall—built in 1877—where us students will be during the week for our class sessions. We then walked through Oxford city center and got to see the popular Oxford landmark, The Bridge of Sighs (officially called Hertford Bridge), along with the majestic buildings of Radcliffe square, the most notable being the beautiful Radcliffe Camera, built between 1737 and 1749. All the buildings and streets are gorgeous and historically engaging. This city has so much to offer and I can’t wait to keep exploring and sharing about my experience with y’all!
#plnu #plnustudyabroad #scio #oxfordscio #oxford @plnu @scio_oxfordWe are on our last full day in London, and are heading to Paris tomorrow in the late morning. We have had a super rad time so far! Some highlights include getting to see Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, a tour of The Wesley House, and much more. I’ve gotten to meet a bunch of super friendly locals that have given me recommendations, as well their story. Sad to leave London, but excited to see what the future holds!
Port #10: Portugal!! during my time in this beautiful country we walked all over the city of Lisbon, went to an Easter church service, visited the aquarium, did a pastry baking class where we made the local delicacy “pastel de nata” and went to a Fado show! one of our 5 days here I was able to visit the town of Sintra where I saw Pena Palace, this town looked straight out of a fairytale. This was by far one of my favorite ports that I have been to with Semester at Sea!!!🇵🇹❣️@gaby.rozendal

EXPECTATION VS. REALITY... let’s be real here, traveling is HARD! while you’re having the time of your life, it’s both physically and emotionally taxing; throw papers, homework, and tests into the mix and you’re running around like a chicken with its head cut off. this holiday weekend has been one of my most difficult times abroad. missing home while trying to soak up every last bit of this experience is challenging. I think with studying abroad, I’ve been putting on a brave face trying to show you all how amazing this experience is, and it is truly amazing, BUT I think it’s about time I embrace the homesickness that comes along with it. yes, homesickness is real. yes, that’s perfectly ok. and yes, sometimes I spend all weekend in my pjs 🦋 // @nicole_sapida #plnu #plnustudyabroad #officeofglobalstudies #saiprograms #london #england #nottinghill #rome #italy #travel

#plnustudyabroad #plnu #oxford #salisbury #salisburycathedral #studyabroadHi all, it’s Jessie with more updates from Oxford!
Here’s a highlight reel of pictures from a field trip we took yesterday. We walked through amazing countryside hills to explore historical churches and ruins.
#plnustudyabroad #plnu #oxford @plnu @scio_oxfordOur last stop was Vienna! What an awesome city. The amount of rich history this city holds is amazing. We were able to visit multiple art museums again—my all time favorite being the MAK museum (a museum based on design and architecture). We also were able to see many famous historical sites pertaining to music, such as Beethoven’s house. Vienna was a rad experience! It was what I imagined for the history aspect, however really surprised me with how accommodating and progressive the city was!

ROME➡️PARIS!!!! Paris was a dream (and only a 70€ Wizz air flight away). Some highlights from my weekend in Paris— 1️⃣The Eiffel Tower of course, we had a picnic and got to watch it twinkle 2️⃣the crepes and croissants are truly unmatched. 3️⃣ this authentic French cafe that gave me local Parisian vibes 4️⃣the artwork, we went to three different museums while there - one of which being the Louvre of course and saw some of the most famous artworks ever made. 5️⃣our tour of the underground catacombs which house more than 6 million skeletons. All in all, I would definitely come back here but my heart is still in Rome . Au Revior—- @avery.bosco

#plnustudyabroad #plnu #oxford @scio_oxfordWe have arrived in Venice! We took a train from Paris to Milan, and then from Milan to Venice. It was quite a long travel day, about 10 hours. So far we have been able to see the musical instrument museum of Venice, La Fenice Opera House, and are about to see Architecture Biennale (an architecture museum). This evening we are seeing a live performance of Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons”. The three cities have all been so different! Venice seems the most “tourist friendly”, however.
One last goodbye from one of my favorite places in the world. So glad to have called Barcelona my home for the past four months. It has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. -Ben
One last post from Jack Aby here reflecting on my ISA Glasgow experience. These photos are of my room, residence hall, the University of Glasgow, and one of my classrooms. This semester has been an incredible life learning experience: Just living in another country has allowed me to reflect on so much. I got to experience a large public university at the University of Glasgow, and interestingly found myself coming to a much deeper appreciation of faith here. But there were times I was laying on the floor in my room questioning it all or wondering why in the world I came to Glasgow. If you notice that photo of my shared kitchen, it has no windows, and it was against the rules to prop the door open-- the combo leading to poor air quality. I was not fully enrolled onto all my courses until the 2nd week of the semester, and at that point I found myself in a class that was out of my level and which had few resources for me to catch up. But this semester I learned so much from people who would probably appear in my life for just a short time. I grew in love for public transit and gained an even greater desire for exploring new places and cultures. Above those things I gained a much greater appreciation for friends, whether those abroad or those back home... I have to admit, considering also the $5000 surcharge, I wouldn't be quick to recommend this program to others. But I believe that just committing to study abroad is taking advantage of an amazing opportunity. -Jack

I got to cross gondola ride off my travel bucket list and I cannot wait to go back 🦋 // @nicole_sapida #plnustudyabroad #plnu #officeofglobalstudies #saiprograms #venice #italy #travel

Study Abroad and the EAC
PLNU Study Abroad Office collaborates with the PLNU Educational Access Center (EAC) for accessibility in our programs; however, many partnership locations require advanced planning for specific students and their accommodation needs. We encourage students with disabilities to self-advocate, confer with the EAC and apply to Study Abroad with PLNU.
If you may require disability accommodation in the program application process and with study abroad program preferences, please express your need when prompted early in the process. We are here to help.
