Conference Services
PLNU’s scenic location, modern facilities, and beautifully landscaped grounds make an ideal setting for meetings, conferences, retreats, and youth camps.
We host more than 7,000 visitors of all ages during the busy summer conference season of mid-May through July. These events promote awareness of our university for future events to be held on campus and attract future students interested in enrolling at our university. Conference Services provides events for nonprofit groups that are a match to our Christian mission.
The university's location also serves as an ideal springboard for a multitude of recreational and ministry opportunities. The nearby coastal communities of Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach, and Mission Beach provide access to the waters of the Pacific. Sea World and the world-famous San Diego Zoo are within easy driving distance. And of course, the comfortable year-round climate in San Diego is unrivaled anywhere in the U.S.
Inquiries
Please submit all event inquiries to the Conference Services office by sending an email with a Reservation Request Form to conferenceservices@pointloma.edu.
We do not host outside groups during the academic school year due to conflicting schedules with classes, venue space, and student/university events. Our event season is mid-May through July. Booking season for a summer event starts in October of the previous year.
Please note that PLNU no longer hosts weddings, wedding receptions, or vow renewals on the main campus or offsite properties. Thank you for understanding.

Guest Group Handbook
The Guest Group Handbook contains a list of venues available for rent and their prices, as well as the rules and policies enforced on campus. The handbook is designed to help make your event as pleasant and trouble-free as possible, while also serving as a legal supplement to PLNU’s Facilities & Services Agreement, which you will sign should you decide to use the university’s facilities.
As you plan your event, please remember that PLNU is a university, and while Conference Services will accommodate you to the best of our ability, there are limitations to the resources that can be provided.
Facilities and Services
PLNU offers a variety of meeting facilities and services designed for events ranging from small informal group gatherings to large conventions and camps. Most venues can be equipped with the latest multimedia and electronic equipment for professional presentations. Please refer to our Guest Group Handbook for current pricing and details.
Lodging
From early June to late July, PLNU’s residence halls are available for events requiring overnight lodging. The residence halls provide dorm-style accommodations, with each room typically housing two people. Approximately 6 to 10 rooms share a common restroom facility. Linens can be rented upon special request.
Lodging prices are per person per night and do not include linens. Guests may be assigned to two- or three-person bedrooms depending upon availability. Price assumes full occupancy for each room. Groups may request single occupancy, but will be billed as if all beds are full.
PLNU's Flex Housing Apartments are also available during summer. These apartment-style units house up to five people in a two-bedroom setting (three people in one room, two people in another). Units include a living room, dining area, two bathrooms, and a kitchen.
Please refer to the Guest Group Handbook for more information.
During the off-season, local hotel accommodations are available at reduced rates through the PLNU Warm Welcome Program.
Meals
Meals may be enjoyed buffet-style while viewing the panoramic surf from the university's indoor and outdoor dining areas, or can be professionally catered at a variety of university venues. The university's dining and catering services are managed by Sodexo, which is internationally recognized for its ability to accommodate any size and type of function. From casual brunches to formal dinners, Sodexo can customize meals to fit your group's needs and budget.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served buffet-style in PLNU’s Dining Room at Nicholson Commons. Lunches may be boxed for day trips upon special request. For catering quotes, please call (619) 849-2454.
