Robbie Maakestad, LJWL Assistant Writing Professor, published an essay, "Edward Robinson and the Legends of Jerusalem's Springs," in Gulf Coast Magazine.
From Maakestad's book-in-progress about the archaeology of Jerusalem's City of David, the essay merges the narrative of Edward Robinson's archaeology and mapping in Palestine in the 1800s with various religious myths about a spring that runs beneath the ruins of ancient Jerusalem.
