On Tuesday, October 30th, PLNU's Microfinance Club had its first Savings Group gathering. The name of the group is Stamp Out Poverty and they will be meeting each week to save and lend money among themselves. After the first meeting, the group raised $130 in savings!
The idea for the Stamp Out Poverty Savings Group was generated by the four students who went to Zambia and Rwanda in July of 2018 with Dr. Rob Gaily (Professor of Business and Director of the Center for International Development).
The equipment used (and exhibited in the photograph) was purchased in Rwanda from World Relief Rwanda.
