A group of MBA alumni established the scholarship to honor the impact that Dr. Lynn Reaser made on them during their graduate school education. Dr. Reaser was a brilliant professor and chief economist at Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU). She blended academic excellence with her keen insights on timely global economic issues. She instilled in students a desire to better understand the global economy through the lenses of key indicators and drivers.
Dr. Reaser had a distinguished career outside of academia as a professional economist with extensive experience in the financial services sector. She demonstrated a remarkable ability to translate complex economic issues into understandable language with relevant and actionable implications. Prior to coming to PLNU, she served as the Chief Economist, Investment Strategies Group at Bank of America.
Dr. Reaser earned her Ph.D., MA, and B.A. in Economics at the University of California, Los Angeles. She served extensively in a variety of roles, the most notable include the Chair of the California Treasurer's Council of Economic Advisors, President of the National Association of Business Economics, Chairman of the American Bankers' Association's Economic Advisory Council, and Member of the California Governor's Council of Economic Advisors and State's Economic Strategy Panel.
The Dr. Lynn Reaser endowed scholarship serves as a living legacy to the remarkable educator whose passion for economics ignited the minds of students, leaving an enduring imprint on their academic and professional pursuits.
