Dr. Ryan Nokes has been teaching at Point Loma Nazarene University since 2015 and is currently the Clinical Education Coordinator for the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program. Dr. Nokes teaches in the Athletic Training Program, the Undergraduate Kinesiology Department, the Graduate Kinesiology Department, and the Anatomy Learning Institute (ALI). Dr. Nokes is a Board Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

Clinically, Dr. Nokes has served as an athletic trainer at San Francisco State University, where he worked with men's soccer and women's track and field. Dr. Nokes later became the head athletic trainer at Point Loma High School in San Diego, CA, where he oversaw the health and safety of more than 20 different sports and 500 student-athletes.

Dr. Nokes's research expertise lies within qualitative research methodologies and health professions education. Specifically, Dr. Nokes has a passion for interprofessional education and exploring innovative methods to foster collaboration among various healthcare disciplines. Additionally, Dr. Nokes is interested in exploring the application of artificial intelligence in educational settings and how AI can enhance teaching strategies and improve learning outcomes. His research surrounding AI also extends into the specific disciplines of healthcare education and clinical practice.
