What were your favorite involvements in college and why?
I grew up in a musical family, so I thoroughly enjoyed the extra-curricular choirs such as Point Loma Singers and the annual events we put on like the Madrigal Dinner and the Messiah. I loved working on campus as an intern. It was a great way to grow in the area of what I wanted to get my degree in while meeting people.

Where's the best place to eat in San Diego?
On the cheap side, Soda and Swine in Liberty Station. It's close to campus (the shuttle even takes you there), with delicious food that is fun to share with friends while playing foosball. Try their scotch egg and anything with their marinara sauce.
For an impressive date night, BO-beau Kitchen in Ocean Beach. An amazing, authentic, and quaint French restaurant that isn't out-of-sight expensive. Stay away on the weekends, unless you're willing to wait 90 minutes or more for a table. I highly recommend their beef bourguignon and brussels sprouts. They are delish!
What do you enjoy doing in San Diego?
San Diego is an outdoors person's playground. I love hiking the many trails in Mission Trails Regional Park, which spans more than 52 miles across San Diego County; taking our dog to Dog Beach in Ocean Beach; and feeding the ducks in Lake Murray. A great day trip would include packing a picnic lunch and your bike, hopping on the Coronado Ferry downtown, biking to Hotel Del Coronado, kayaking in the bay, then eating dinner at any of the yummy restaurants on Orange Avenue before hopping back on the ferry home. Yes, you'll be exhausted, but it's so fun!
What advice would you give to an incoming student?
I highly recommend living on campus for at least two of your four years at PLNU. Whether you live on campus, commute, or are a transfer student, get involved in student life. It's the best way to make lifelong friends and have experiences you won't forget.
