Karen Seehaus, M.F.A.

Adjunct Professor of Composition and Literature

Karen Seehaus is fond of saying that writing and education are the loves of her professional life. Karen enjoys working with talented students and considers engaging with students at PLNU to be a privilege. When she is able to shift a student’s perspective to give them confidence and agency in their own writing, she is personally delighted. 

In addition to teaching composition and rhetoric, she writes extensively, both professionally and for her own creative work. As many writers do, Karen is fond of reading and journaling. After a long day of writing, her favorite places to unwind are in her garden and by the ocean. 

Karen is also a world traveler, having journeyed extensively through four of the world’s continents, with plans to get to the other three. Her passion outside of all of this is running. She adores running, and students can attest that she has an extensive wardrobe of running shirts from races both here in the United States and abroad, with most of them being from Disney races.
