Holly Orozco, Ph.D.

Dr. Holly Orozco is an experienced leader with nearly 12 years of progressive leadership roles within higher education, and a combined 25 years of academic and professional experience in the field of public health. She has served as a Research Associate, Lecturer, Adjunct Faculty, Assistant Professor, Faculty Lead, Program Chair, Dean (of four distinct colleges), and Vice Provost at both public and privately held WASC and HLC accredited institutions. Additionally, she is recognized as a leader in public health and has served in roles such as the Senior Advisor for Substance Abuse Policy to Governor Janet Napolitano; Vice President and President Elect on the Board of Directors for both the Arizona and Southern California Public Health Association; and a former Member on the Board of Education for the American Public Health Association.

Dr. Orozco has a passion to develop career-relevant degree programs and create pathways for adult-learners to advance their education. She is an experienced academic leader; able to influence change and innovation while elevating the engagement levels of faculty and staff. Her top Gallup's Clifton Strengths include: Activator, Arranger, Strategic, Connectedness, and Learner.  

Focused on inclusivity, Dr. Orozco has an incredible ability to connect and bring together multiple stakeholders to solve problems and advance an academic mission or community-driven need. She has partnered with and served multiple and diverse communities through-out her public health career; even founding a non-profit organization that focuses on community enrichment. Dr. Orozco has earned both a master's (1995) and doctoral degree (2003) from Loma Linda University.
