This standalone course will familiarize you with the physiological principles, function, integration and homeostasis of the human body from the cellular level to organ system level. This class is fully online and asynchronous so you can learn on your own schedule!
In this course, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of each of these systems in the human body: integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, sensory, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, excretory, and reproductive systems. This course perfectly complements the human anatomy course, and fulfills the physiology prerequisite.

How is the course delivered?
The course is delivered fully online and asynchronously with the opportunity to meet with instructors via Zoom. Students use cutting-edge technology to complete their virtual labs and learn about the human body using the Visible Body-Courseware platform.

Who teaches this course?

This course is taught by Dr. Brandon Sawyer who is a professor of Kinesiology and Biology, Kinesiology Department chair, and the Associate Dean of Operations for the College of Health Sciences at PLNU. Dr. Sawyer also teaches Anatomy and Physiology and Exercise Physiology at the undergrad level and Physiology for PLNU's PA program. Dr. Sawyer's experience includes working as a certified athletic trainer at the high school, college and professional levels; conducting research and publishing in areas related to the effects of exercise on health, maximal exercise performance and combating anti-fat attitudes.
How much does the course cost?
Tuition is $900 plus a $50 lab fee.

In certain states outside California, PLNU is not authorized to enroll students in online courses and/or offer internships.
